About Widelands

Widelands is a free, open source real-time strategy game with singleplayer campaigns and a multiplayer mode. The game was inspired by Settlers II™ (© Bluebyte) but has significantly more variety and depth to it. Still, it is easy to get started through playable tutorials.

For more information go to official website of the project.

About me

My name is Jakub. I live in Kraków, in Poland. My nickname is einstein13. I like science, especially physics and mathematics. When I've found Widelands project, I had some ideas how to improve the gameplay. Most of them were wrong, but I didn't give up. First good things were maps: I've created some of them and a few is added to Widelands official build. After some time I've spotted some bugs and reported them (it is good to use Launchpad when you spot any). Next step was have contribution with Widelands world model: trees growth model. I helped to create some possible models and to choose the best (I am not the only one who invented it!). Last step is to use my knowledge about programming: I don't know C++, but other languages and I can use them to improve as much as possible.
I am open for any contact to my e-mail or via Widelands profile
